Makeup is an art they say. What they never say is you have to try ten thousand different stuff to finally become a successful artist 😀 And during that ten thousand times , the amount of money you spend can actually make a revolution 😀 (bit exaggerating though) 😀 😀
Jokes apart , those who know me personally knows how much I love makeup. Spending money on makeup is kind of the best thing you can ever do with your money.
It has been a while and many steps for me to learn some basic things which I might say I learned way too late. I still am a self learner and you tube and other sites have helped me through out..
Let me share some basics I learned with you girls too 🙂
1. Use Brushes/Beauty blenders:
Let me confess, almost half of my life I saw people saying your fingers are the best thing for blending. And I have always found it an excuse for not spending my money on some makeup sponge and a bunch of brushes. But guess what? A while back I finally got a 24 piece brush set and woah ! fingers are great but brushes, they do the magic. And trust me it is quite an investment.
hahh !! okay that was just for fun 😀 don’t do that 😀
2. Always exfoliate:
Yes it is necessary to scrub or exfoliate our skin and we all do it as part of our daily routine. But do you know you get to exfoliate your lips also before you put on your expensive lipstick ? I did not 🙁 and I am ashamed.
Anyways, So apparently you can scrub your lips with a mixture of sugar, honey and lemon juice.
But as lazy as I am , Ain’t nobody got time for that. So I got this ammazinggggg Elf Lip Exfoliator and it is also a great investment and a time saver.
You just rub it on your lips for a couple of seconds and wipe it out. Voila , now you can enjoy every worth of your penny spent on your branded lipsticks 🙂
3.Not everything is for you:
Its hard , really hard to let go of a trend or a makeup product that every one around talks about. But you have to. It is a fact that not every one can pull off the same look or trend or in some cases the products. You have to choose the best for you that is meant for you.
It took me a lifetime to understand that I can never wear the nude lipstick no matter how much crazy I get on the concealer. And I can not pull off a bold winged eyeliner because I have hooded eyes. But everything has an alternative, you just have to find it out 🙂
Self learning basically means being creative. Watch hundreds of tutorials , subscribe every MUA , read all the makeup blogs but always always improvise.
The truth no one can say to you is it is never what you see. Its more like you pick up a thing from a tutorial and change the angle using your own personality 🙂 (Its confusing I hope you are getting me 😀 )
5. Throw expired ones:
Please please please , throw your expired makeup products. Many of the products does not have an expiry date mentioned over them because there is this universal chart that tells you the average age of your makeup product. I know it is the most difficult thing to do but your skin is far important than some bucks.
In the end , I just want to say, it is not a shame if you wear makeup. It is not to hide anything or to prove anything to someone. We wear makeup because we love it. We are beautiful , with or without it 🙂
