Miss Veet Pakistan 2016
Branded shows in Pakistan like Coke Studio and Nascafe Basement have done great job. They are giving a great entertainment to the people of Pakistan by promoting good music and giving chances to the youngsters to come up with their talent. I just wondered out loud what Miss Veet Pakistan is doing in this respect?
They are finding a girl with confidence and intelligence, fitness and style, charm and class, desire and determination.. O really??? Can it be determined just by 1 minute challenge of keeping herself in the position of balancing stick? Or just by making her self ready for a party within 60 seconds? Or it be judged just by the people of entertainment industry? No business entrepreneur, no fitness expert or any professional lady with some more expertise other than just glamour and good looks. Further more, it was seeming to be totally unclear that what judges wanted to come out with in the auditions. While looking for a confident girl having good communication skills, a girl with American accent came out, who apparently cannot speak Urdu well.
Veet, obviously has spent huge amount of money on this show as it was shot in Sri Lanka, where the cast and crew stayed up in a fancy resort. Judges and mentor including Aminah Sheikh, Aisha Khan, Tappu Javeri and Fayezah Ansari respectively. Including a special guest appearance in every week’s episode.
They also have held a concert at Ocean Mall with Noori and Sara Haider. Investment is worthy, but not the show.
Apparently, the show has lost its plot just after the auditions. Auditions were somehow good, as they included some reasonable things to come out with some of the girls to go on. But in the contest their were some lousy things we came through. Some unnatural ways to find out an intellectual girl. Judges were looking for a model rather than a girl with some extra abilities. How a girl’s convincing anyone to buy her product can determine her level of intelligence? There can be some more other ways too. then why just doing a party makeup in 1 minute.
Judges got more critical and scary at some points which was most of the time, not appreciable. And yes, one more thing I want to mention here, that what was that when you take the views of contestants and they were saying, “Main bht khush hu mujhy designer k kapry mily, jin ko khreedny ka main soch bhi nai skti thi.” Well, seriously, what was this about? Was that the right attitude? Its fine that you can’t buy, many of us can’t but saying this thing in front of camera was, in my view, not an appreciable thing.
Adding up, I was somehow wondered by the voting system to bring back the girl got eliminated. You have recorded this show a few months back then how can this thing effect their comeback? So, at the end of the day, the job of a brand is to just advertise, sell their products and make money and for this you can even spread vulgarity, doesn’t matter..!
